Jodie Whittaker is stunning in the new Doctor Who Trailer #2

I’m the Doctor. When people need help, I never refuse.

Doctor Who is back with a new season, new cast, sound and production team. From the glimpses, Jodie Whittaker looks incredible as the thirteenth incarnation of the Doctor and I’m sure she will blow our minds in her debut episode ‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth‘.

Both the trailers looked stunning and cinematic. A higher budget and a new production and VFX team seem to have done an incredible job at making things look great. Even though we don’t have much information on the kind of stories to expect from the trailers, its no doubt that visually Doctor Who will be a treat.

Her companions, Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole and Bradley Walsh look ready to join the Doctor on her adventures. From the second trailer, it’s clear that they have her back in the show. It is very intriguing for me to see how their friendship pans out with the eccentric Doctor, that is if Jodie’s Doctor is eccentric. I am praying that they don’t include any more romantic angles with any characters. Honestly, I’m tired of seeing it and I never want to see it again.

This series of Doctor Who is scored by composer Segun Akinola who replaced Murray Gold. I am expecting a change, but I would really like to see the new soundtracks to have the essence of the legendary Doctor Who music.

Even though Chris Chibnall’s written episodes in Doctor Who weren’t anything great, I am hoping the team of writers prove my fears wrong. He did a great job at introducing Jodie to the audience at the comic con. The number of episodes is reduced to 10 along with a Christmas special. According to rumours, the episodes may go into the educational zone with 5 episodes in the past and 5 in the future. This, however, is not confirmed.

The sonic screwdriver’s shape is different and new but still a bit weird. Honestly, I think I wouldn’t even care about this after the first episode. Ever since the new (or rather the older design) of the TARDIS was released, I am very curious to know how they remodelled the interior. Guess we’ll know soon…

Though it is about time that the Doctor swapped gender, it is also relieving to know that it would be irrelevant (or the sole focus) and the focus is on her story and adventures. To those who missed the entire Master/Missy transition, it has been already established that Time Lords can change genders during regeneration. And those who have seen the show know that Missy owned it as the Master with her unique quirk and wickedness. So those really angry about the Doctor’s changed gender, do go and watch the show first.
